Wondering how to wash a king duvet at home in North York? Most king duvets can be machine washed — but only if your washer is big enough to let it move freely. Here's the method that works, and when it's smarter to bring it to us instead.
Check the label first — Down, feather, wool, or "dry clean only" need extra care. Most synthetic and cotton duvets are machine washable.
Does it fit? — A king duvet needs room to tumble. If you have to cram it in, it won't get properly clean and it can strain the machine. Rule of thumb: if it fills more than about three-quarters of the drum, it's too big for that machine.

Gentle or bulky cycle, warm water, mild detergent, and an extra rinse to get all the soap out. Skip bleach on down fills.
Low heat with dryer balls to break up clumps, and make sure it's 100% dry before use or storage — a damp duvet mildews and clumps.
Your machine is too small, it's down or feather, it's a weighted blanket, or you just don't want a three-hour project. Our 80 lb washers handle king duvets, weighted blankets, and sleeping bags. Priced per pound ($1.55/lb walk-in wash & fold) — not the $26–$44 per duvet some Toronto services charge.
Or just walk in: 1635 Lawrence Ave W #11, North York. Open 7 days, 7am–9pm.
